Christoffer Carstanjen Memorial Scholarship

The Artisans' Guild of Cape Cod awards the Christoffer Carstanjen Memorial Scholarship to a Cape senior in June of each year.

In order to be eligible for the scholarship -- which has ranged in the past from $500 to $1000 -- the student must be a graduating senior from a Cape Cod High School and planning to major in an art related field, not including music.  Students applying must be in good scholastic standing, have financial need, and show general promise of success in college.

An application form is available from this website on or about January 1st of each year, with a deadline of May 1st, for a scholarship to be awarded in the following calendar year, i.e., applications considered in May 2010 are for the award given in June 2011.  The application form includes requests for four letters of recommendation, five different examples of the student's work in the form of photographs, slides or DVDs, and most importantly, a personal statement by the applicant.

The Guild Scholarship funds are specifically intended as an aid towards tuition costs.  The amount of funding available for the scholarship program in any given year is dependent upon the fundraising efforts of the Guild specifically for this purpose.  Donations from the public are welcome, and may be made by clicking on the link below.
